If you have a mobile device and have not yet upgraded mobile Chrome from v25 to v26 then do not do so!
I just filed this bug report. http://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=5236 The exact same thing happens with ACMEMapper. http://mapper.acme.com/ ACME is broken on my iPhone with mobile Chrome v26 and works fine on my iPad with mobile Chrome v25 To see the problem open a map and look for the 'Google' logo in the lower left.
