Hi Diego,

You don't make clear what kind of data you're presenting in your layers - 
is it markers (places), or polygons (areas/regions), or polylines, or some 
custom object? And you don't say what kind of layers - are these KML as in 
the stackoverflow link, or API layers? Where do the data originate - from a 
database, text file, KML file, user-uploaded data, etc???

It's always possible to present (many!) such objects in Google maps, AND to 
have their visibility controllable by custom controls/ menu/whatever, by 
using the API.
