I should have been more precise, I see GData comes in a variety of flavours. I have done some more testing just now and I can confirm the issue exist. I have raised a ticket http://code.google.com/p/gdata-python-client/issues/detail?id=165 The code given in the ticket has the album name hardcoded. The album is public. Works fine with gdata-python-client 1.1.1, refuses to work with 1.2.1.
