Thanks for the info Fabricio. The closure of the Picasa button client API doesn't seem correct. I forwarded this issue to the Picasa team in order to find out what happened. I'm assuming that over the long holiday weekend, some spammer might have sent a lot of posts to that group (which is unmonitored, unlike the Picasa Web API group), which might have caused an automatic closure. I'll sent a follow-up message to this thread once I found out more.
