Hi, Is there any chance that google could publish a Socket Policy File to allow the flash player to connect directly to http://photos.googleapis.com:843 directly? There are currently a lot of restrictions (custom headers, malfunctioning progress events, http timouts, etc) when connecting to the picasa api via http protocol, and I believe that being able to connect to port 843 directly would solve the problems.
Please note, this policy file is different to the crossdomain.xml file, which has already been published (and works a charm). Flash player requires a separate policy file for socket connections, as discussed here: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/flashplayer/articles/socket_policy_files.html I see that this issue was mentioned in this forum in March 2008, but it was never followed up. http://groups.google.com/group/google-picasa-data-api/browse_thread/thread/c4a529d1ce7b4ba/a7de7251faabf93f?lnk=gst&q=socket#a7de7251faabf93f Looking forward to your response, Paul. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Picasa Web Albums API" group.
