Sorry we can't be more helpful. We're just using the standard:

- (GDataServiceTicket *)fetchEntryByInsertingEntry:(GDataEntryBase 
*)entryToInsert
                                        forFeedURL:(NSURL *)feedURL
                                          delegate:(id)delegate
                                 didFinishSelector:(SEL)finishedSelector



method. The only other clue that might help you figured this out is that we 
were getting progress callbacks from:


- (void)inputStream:(GDataProgressMonitorInputStream *)stream

hasDeliveredByteCount:(unsigned long long)numberOfBytesRead

   ofTotalByteCount:(unsigned long long)dataLength 


The 503 was only getting returned after it seemed that the upload method timed 
out. So the upload seems to only fail at the very end and the server does 
recieve all the data.
