Now the announcement <http://googlephotos.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/moving-on-from-picasa.html> has been made. Picasa will be retired but the Picasa Web Albums Data API will still support most functions.
I used picasaweb.google com to create albums and upload photos. I can continue do this with google photos web interface. However where I used to be able to set sharing to 'Public on the Web' on picasaweb I cannot do this on google photos. I need to be able to read contents of public albums via the Picasa Web Albums Data API. The Google Photos album security setting of '*Anyone with the link can see this album*' does not allow me to read contents of the album via the API. Will you be adding the '*Public on the Web*' option to the sharing options in Google Photos?
