Hi,

it seems that recently Google changed the behavior of the Picasa Web Albums
API / GData API and resizes photo uploads to the InstantUpload album to
max. 2048 x 2048 pixels.
However this seems like a bug to me because this only happens under 'some'
conditions:

   - Image uploads to https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/api/user/(USER
ID or USER ACCOUNT)/albumid/default will be resized to 2048 x 2048 pixels
   - Image uploads
   to https://picasaweb.google.com/data/feed/api/user/default/albumid/default
will not be resized to 2048 x 2048 pixels
   - Image uploads using the resumable upload
   to
https://picasaweb.google.com/data/upload/resumable/media/create-session/feed/api/user/default/albumid/default

will be resized to 2048 x 2048 pixels
   - Image uploads to all other albums no matter which upload method is
   chosen will not be resized

I am pretty sure that this worked all without resizing until recently
(maybe when the API changes for Picasa Web Albums API have put into effect
by May, 1st, https://developers.google.com/picasa-web/).
Any Google developer officials who can confirm if this is a wanted behavior
or a bug that was caused by the recent API changes.

Are there any plans to release a programming API for Google Photos one day?

Best,

Helmut
