Do you use the Google personalised homepage? If so, you might like to try this gadget: http://www.google.com/ig/directory?url=bookmarks.xml It does something similar to what you have described - it's Google Bookmarks. You can keep the same bookmarks across computers, and organise them into labels too. It's very handy!
