No. To use Jabber, you get a Jabber ID. Your ID can be hosted at any
Jabber server, not only the jabber.org server -- we have a
decentralized technology and you can even run your own server if you
want. And BTW only a few people have email addresses at jabber.org
(perhaps half a dozen), but as of today 228,572 have Jabber IDs there.
