Microsoft supports SIP federation, and there is a fee to federate with
AOL, MSN or Yahoo using the Microsoft Communicator client and a
Corporate OCS infrastructure. I asked Microsoft about XMPP
federation, and was told they have no plans to add XMPP support to LCS/
OCS, they only support SIP.

Has anybody tried federation from OCS to Google, perhaps using a
(free, open source) SIP-XMPP proxy?

Specifically I'm looking at OpenSER,
