Looks like there's new categories... Animals, Nature, Sports, etc... At least it's a step in the right direction. Although, where's the categories for Foreheads, Twilight, No Image Available? ;)
When I developed my first theme I was lucky enough to see my updates to my theme the very next day after resubmitting, now it's been months. And some themes have never been accepted, it seems. It would at least be nice to get an email from an iGoogle moderator stating "theme rejected". Glad to see that the backlog is at least being "sifted through".
