Here is an idea to make a website a multi-language version in the
future. I am thinking of combining the wikipedia idea and google
translation.
The idea is to combine machines and human brains, and to use a
collaborative format.
*On the participated webpage, there is a google translation button.
(Google Translation team will need to create an improved version of
google translation API)
*The API could allow each user to manually change the unclear
translation (or mistakes in the version created by google translation)
by clicking on the sentence and manually inputting the correct one.
(Google translation allows users to see the sentence in the original
language)
*Then, we have the potential to make every participated webpage a
multi-language version with flexible volunteer inputs.
*A editing record (similar to wikipedia) could be provided by the tool
bar. The translation volunteer could keep his or her name anonymous
or provide a webname.
