Key point - Pinyin should be displayed IN ADDITION to the translated
text. This should be available whether translating to or from
Chinese.

So if I translate "Hello" to Chinese I should be able to see "ni hao"
AS WELL as "你好". If I translate from "你好" to English I should be able
to see "ni hao" as well as "Hello".

What you need to understand is that Google Translate is most useful to
people with basic language skills. We need help... but we also half
understand. Given difficulties of reading Chinese compared to
speaking having pinyin is a very essential tool to assist
understanding.
