None Languages in popdown menu translator tool for own website

Hi,
i am planning to integrate the Google Translator tool into my website.
But what i was wondering about is - the languages are displayed in my
website's language - German. Not everone in The Netherlands knows that
Dutch is Niederländisch in German.
If someone who is unfamiliar with the German language visits my site -
how is he or she supposed to know which language to choose?
Or am I wrong, does the popdown menu change automatically eg when
google recognizes the visitors language?
