I like to use Google Translate on my iPhone all the time, as I'm
currently learning Portuguese. When I use a desktop browser, I have my
URL bookmarked so the querystring parameters for the URL looks
something like:

http://translate.google.com/?hl=en&sl=en&tl=pt

...and it would set my default languages accordingly.

However, I modified the bookmark in my iPhone to match the non-iphone
version of the URL, but the querystring parameters have no effect on
the iPhone version -- it *always* comes up English and Spanish. Bleh.

- Is this by design? (I don't see how it can be.)
- Is there a way to set our default languages in the iPhone flavor of
Google Tranlsate?
- - If so, how do we set them?

I don't care so much about the initial from/to order since I typically
switch back and forth frequently anyway, but just having the initial
languages set/remembered would be nice.

It's certainly not obvious from the interface if it is settable/
configurable, so hopefully someone here can help me out on this.

Actually, I'm a bit perplexed by the fact that the iPhone web app
doesn't set a cookie to *automatically remember* the last pair of
languages used. Might be a nice feature for the future, so querystring
hacking is not even necessary. (free ux/ixd tip of the day...)

Thanks in advance.
