There has been a lot of discussion earlier on the list of why proper
names are sometimes (erroneously) translated, and why there probably
isn't a quick fix to solve all these problems. In brief: statistical
translation makes the translator confuse words that are used in the
same contexts, there is so foolproof way to identify proper names, and
very rarely even proper names should be translated (eg. English NATO
to French OTAN, English "John the baptist" to Norwegian "Johannes
døperen")
But when you report something like this, it's a good idea to give a
minimal example, in other words the smallest sentence you can make
that exhibits the error. That way we can speculate about what happened
and why (fun, isn't it?) and for all we know, if it is odd enough,
maybe Google will add it to their regression tests.
