because i couldnt figure out how to reply to a previous post i am creating my own. i apologize for my computer illiteracy.
i am trying to translate chinese to english. when attempting to translate chinese characters, the result is the pinyin equivalent of said characters. when i type the pinyin into the 'translate' box i get nothing, except the exact same word/phrase, in pinyin, of which i am searching for translation in the first place. translation from chinese characters to pinyin is immeasurably useful, especially to a 'westerner' living in asia. but, characters to pinyin translation doesnt do a whole helluva lot if one doesnt understand pinyin. barring the very real possibility that i fail to understand, and properly use, the translation program, i suggest you put some peeps to work on making the 'chinese-to-english' translate tool ACTUALLY translate the one language to the other. hugs & kisses, -m. p.s.
