I am just a user, but I want Google translate to work better, too. I'm sure you are right that this is NOT a case of ambiguous meanings. The feature in Google translate that allows a user to enter "better translations" I strongly suspect is enabling rude people to enter anything they want to upset later users. I think Google is not properly editing these "contributions" before they re-appear on another user's screen. This abuse of the Google tool may cause many upset users.
