I agree.

Possible solution: for both "source" and "target" language, have a
list of last four languages used. Not even drop-down, just plain links/
buttons, so that a language can be selected with a single click.
The "swap languages" button is nice as long as you only use two
different languages. But with just three, I have to scroll down the
huge list all the time (I often have a translation page open just to
translate small ad hoc snippets).
My usage pattern is often many translations (in different languages)
per minute.
