In YIVO Yiddish, there is a letter which makes an "a" sound (“אַ”),
this is what is being used for “AIDS” (“אַידס”).
In CHASIDIC Yiddish, “Jews” is “אידן” (silent letter "א", pronounced
"(y)idn"). Pluralising with an "s" sound (“ס”) is acceptable for some
words, but not this one (usually loan words from English or Rusisan or
whatever.)
In YIVO Yiddish, “Jews” is “ײִדן” ("Yidn")
But in CHASIDIC Yiddish, “AIDS” is “אידס” (non-silent "letter "א")
In other words, the closest to any confusion would come from using
Chasidic Yiddish (which isn't what's given when asking for AIDS so it
can't be confused when reading) AND by thinking that the plural of
"איד" was "אידס" which it NEVER is. No Yiddish speaker could ever
confuse these two words written OR spoken.
