Since the Google Translate web interface only has one input box and tries to automatically recognise URLs to handle them differently, it fails on IDNs (i.e. top-level domains like .中国 and its ASCII synonym .xn--fiqs8s). Instead, it treats the URL as a piece of text to be translated directly.
You can work around it by getting the IP address of the site (e.g. convert the address to ascii-punycode and paste it into "ping" or something), but it'd be better if they were handled properly. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
