Interesting. It looks like the "translation bots" could be extended so, for example, if you type "Hello" to a Spanish speaking friend, it will sent "Hola" to their Gtalk chat window.
Regarding Facebook, I have some friends and their entire profile page/ posts are in another language, danish for example. I was thinking it would be good if the content of the page, in particular posts, were automatically translated to my selected language setting e.g. English (US) and vice versa for them. I guess this is more of a Microsoft/ Facebook issue though but maybe it applies to some Google products in some way.
