You do not say what your approach is. If you don't give us some
information people will think they are simply buying something of
unknown quality.
What methods do you use for disambiguation. Do you use LSA? What n-
grams do you use? I have been researching Arabic - The word نجم means
star. It can also mean "instalment payment. If I say for example
شمس نجم how do you you know that the Sun is not an instalment
payment? There are a number of possible approaches. The true AI
approach is to take شمس and fill it in as a C++/Java class.
The GT approach is statistical. I must say it has not done a bad job
with your passage. There are a few defects. What is Azmash? hat is to
say it looks at a word and the surrounding words and produces what it
considers to be the most probable translation.
Do you use categories in any way. GT frequently gets countries wrong.
انكلترا = England (Arabic). Translations are good with single words
but countries fall over in passages, as a great many people have
pointed out. A category translation would be {country=انكلترا} with
the country filled in later.
Language is very close to AGI. In fact the EU project MOLTO

is very much dipping into this area. MOLTO will translate mathematical
expressions and will also generate OWL. This puts the technology very
much into the "dual use" category. I believe that "perfect" or should
I say "Near Human Quality" translations can only be done in a cloud
with large numbers of n-grams. An OWL like tag could be used to modify
the way translations are performed.

Another question - grammar. GT takes absolutely no cognisance of
grammar. It claims to be "statistical". In fact grammar provides its
own statistics and indicates the linking of words.
As I said I regard the technology as very much dual use. AI will
design better reactors, bombs, centrifuges and IEDs, the latter being
in evidence in Afghanistan. I may sound an arrogant atheist, but I
think religious people can be utterly stupid. Iran did not like the
way the Taliban persecuted the Shia. What did they honestly expect?
Now they seem to be paying lip service to supporting Hamid Karzai
whilst at the same time supplying IEDs and other significant help to
the insurgency.
The US and EU have embargoed Iran, ostensibly over the nuclear issue,
but also over issues like Hamas/Hezbullah and the interference in the
internal affairs of the Arab world. There is also the issue of
censorship. As I have said, only a cloud will support Near Human
Quality - I believe. For all these reasons I would be cautious about
getting involved in a joint project of any sort. As I said I am
sceptical about what you have achieved.
