Besides translating, Google Translate could play an immense role in
language learning. I feel a great feature that could be used by
language learners would be text to speech by a native speaker (non-
machine) and someone who has a similar accent (there has been some
research suggesting learning a language with an accent is more
effective).

This could be easily implemented by crowdsourcing the recordings in
Gtranslate's site and giving it features for users to control the
quality of the input. Depending on the level of involvement, even
whole phrases could be translated (for example, this would be useful
for French because words sometimes are spelled together or
differently).
