Apparently, Google translate is going downhill in its quality.
The new GUI lacks options to improve a translation.
I used it often in the past for my spanish.
But these days when you type (dutch) "zon" it says "sun" is the
spanish translation for it, while it should be sol, this is just one
sample, the quality is rapidly getting downhill.
What i would suppose is that people could (again) correct translations
like in the past.
In a simple way, (not by uploading oxml files)
However have some additions; to the correction function
1) The option to correct a word or a phrase, since in spanish words
often have multiple translations based on the phrase in which it is
used
2) If one does only have a word correction, not a phrase, it could
still mean a lot of things, show them all if possible, but most used
on top.
3) Also for single words in any language show if they are male or
female. If this is known for that language for example and tell the
possible meanings :
Square = "El Plaza (m) [open park place often center in a
spanish city]"
= "El Quadrados (m) [mathematical shape]
4) for those who correct they should tell how sure they are about that
translation ranging from 1 to 4 (only google internal people
translater, could add a weight of 5, or other trust worthy
translators.
5) have this controlled by AI since google indexes so many websites in
so many languages it should be possible by artificial knowledge to
compare pages with similair topics to see how some words are used.
