I've just come across some odd behaviour with Google Translate.

I typed in the German term "Ortungssytem" (with a capital O) and
Google Translate gave me "location system" [NB all German nouns &
compound nouns start with a capital letter].

I then changed it to "ortungssystem" (with a lowercase O) and Google
Translate changed the translation to "positioning system".

"Location system", "locating system", "positioning system" & "tracking
system" are translations provided by the online dictionaries Leo
(http://dict.leo.org), Beolingus (http://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/) and
dict.cc (http://www.dict.cc), so both Google Translate translations
are right, but why change the translation just because a capital O is
changed to a lowercase one?

What on earth is going on here?

Regards
Nick
