Google Translate fails on open pdf files in Google docs.

Attempts to call Google Page Translate function via browser tab from
the following Google docs page:

https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B7aIxOg73jKcNDM5MTYzN2QtNTc3ZC00YzAyLWFlODQtNDBlMDM1MWE4ODhk&sort=name&layout=list&pid=0B7aIxOg73jKcNDdmNTE4M2UtNzg5Yi00YmI2LTlkY2QtMWNjNDhkYmY1ZTI4

gives following puzzling result:

Sorry, this URL is invalid
http://docs.google.com:443/fileview?id=0B7aIxOg73jKcNDM5MTYzN2QtNTc3ZC00YzAyLWFlODQtNDBlMDM1MWE4ODhk

and pasting the URL into google translate gives the same result, but
a different url (NB: neither error message shows the actual URL of the
page):

Sorry, this URL is invalid
http://docs.google.com:443/fileview?id=0B7aIxOg73jKcNDM5MTYzN2QtNTc3ZC00YzAyLWFlODQtNDBlMDM1MWE4ODhk&hl=en_US

Instead of simply calling Google Page Translate with a single click on
the appropriate tab on my browser, I have to do the following:

1. open Google Translate in a new browser window

2. download the text of the chapter I want to translate onto my hard
drive

 3. open the downloaded pdf file

4. select and copy the text of the file

5. paste the text into the Google Translate window

6. click translate

One other interesting quirk evoked by this experiment is that, when
the real URL is entered in the Google Translate translation window,
and Google Translate language selection is left on the automatic
setting, the URL is detected as "Hungarian!"
