Hi, When translating an entire page (by pasting the URL into translate) Dutch translations into English are often way off the mark. That is, proper nouns and some other words tend to be translated into English equivalents rather than the correct English translations.
Some examples I've seen today: Amsterdam becomes London Rotterdam becomes Birmingham cm (centimeters) becomes inches kilometers becomes miles Mulisch (a Dutch writer) becomes Steinbeck I often click to contribute a better translation, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Also, these errors generally don't occur when translating a fragment of text on the translate page - only when translating an entire page. Thanks (and it's a great service!!!), Karl. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
