Hi, I've been hoping for this service, and it's very cool. What it shows me about the Norwegian<->English translations is that word by word, they are very good. I guess ninety percent of the times, when there is a significant translation error, it's because of word order confusion.
While that is a good thing in one sense, it also means we (at least for the well-established languages like Norwegian) can't contribute much in terms of better word translations. There is just too little to gain there. I had hoped I could select blocks of text and suggest translations for them, but it seems we have to deal with GT's chunking - presumably the reason for the lack of this option is that GT isn't good at making use of it? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
