I have been in a situation over the last couple of days where I have been using Google Translate exclusively for communication, primarily for SMS.
When I discovered that the context of a lot of my messages was being misinterpreted, I reverted to doing manually what the website www.translationparty.com does, which is to translate the first translation back into the original language. Once I started to do this manually, my communications improved, and there were considerably fewer questions as to the meaning of my messages. I believe that if the Google Translate API did this automatically, it would greatly improve the ease of use and functionality of the tool. In communications, context is essential. The way Google Translate operates now, there is a significant loss of context when the wrong word is unknowingly used in translation. Please add a "return translation" script to your translate.google.com system, and I think you will find many more people satisfied with the service. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
