Dear Google Translate Team, When I browse the pages in Nepali language like melosic.blogspot.com and even google page in Nepali (http://www.google.com.np/), they are incorrectly detected to be in Hindi language. When I go to "Report an incorrect language detection", there is no option to select Nepali language. Nepali is the primary language spoken in Nepal and some parts of India and Bhutan. Exclusion of the world's 54th most spoken language (http:// en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_languages_by_number_of_native_speakers) from a mere list of languages doesn't seem appropriate and is offending to native Nepali people. Nepali language is one of 32 languages in which BBC has its regional services .(http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/languages/index.shtml)
So I humbly request to support Nepali language in translation or at least for the time being, include it in the list of languages in your page for reporting incorrect language detection. Note: 1. Nepali is already in Google Indic Transliteration IME, so lack of vocabulary might not have been the problem. 2. Devanagari is the common script for both Hindi and Nepali as well Sanskrit, Marathi and other languages. Thanks. - binokary (Nepali) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group. To post to this group, send email to [email protected].
