Hi all, Thanks for the reports. We had a bug in the "Phonetic Typing" feature that should now be fixed. If you encounter any issues with this feature, please try refreshing the page while holding down the shift key - that should make sure you're viewing the latest version of the Google Translate website.
As FlashToso mentioned, the "Listen" feature is available only for short translations upto roughly 100 characters. We've had this limit since we first shipped text-to-speech in 2009, so nothing has changed recently. Please let me know if you have examples of how this would be useful for longer text.
