I occasionally use the Google Translate site to translate various
phrases/ sentences from English to 19 other languages. I find the
Google Translate site very useful for this purpose.

I would like to suggest that the team considers a 'round trip'
translation interface, by which I mean the main screen is split into 2
distinct panels, with the original phrase & associated translation
[e.g. English > French] shown on top and the reverse [French >
English] shown in the second panel beneath. In the second panel, the
input phrase would be the output translation taken from the top
panel.
The idea of this is that a user could then see at a glance how changes
to the original input phrase (in my example, that's the English phrase
in the top panel) improve the quality of the translation. This can be
useful when you are trying to refine a rough translation by re-wording
the original (English) phrase in order to improve the
understandability of the translated version. At present, I use 2
distinct tabs and cut/paste the initial translation to the second tab
to see what the re-translation is like- it would be very useful if I
could simply click a button to switch this feature on as required!

Many thanks to all the team involved.
