The translation features are getting better all the time. It is great to see some of our suggestions being implemented. Butttttt - while the swap button now swaps for example Chinese and English it isn't doing it properly. So you type in English and it translates into Chinese. You hit the swap button to check it and instead of exchanging the English text for the Chinese characters, you get English (the same English - which is rather useless) in both dialogue boxes. Same sort of thing happens with Chinese.
We need the actual body of text/characters to swap consistently and the translation to swap consistently - A to B, B to A. This is important, because sometimes the translation is way off. We need to be able to use the "click on words for alternate translations" option after a swap as well, not just before the swap. The whole point is to be able to choose different characters until you get the meaning you want and swap it back and forth to check. Of course if the characters aren't swapping you're screwed and can only use the back button to try to get back to usable input. I wish I could post screen shots here to show the issues. Please keep working on this feature - it has improved so much over the past 3 years. I also would like to be able to simply choose a 2 language pair as a default (radio buttons?) and not just have the 'detect' language feature as the default. I only use Chinese and English and it sometimes is a nuisance to have to tell GT what to do every time you use GT. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
