Let me amend my above post. The behavior described is what happens when I right click on the translate "tool" on the google toolbar; when I right click on the translate "button", I get the message "The Website cannot display the webpage". More information: "This error (HTTP 500 Internal server error) means that the website you are visiting had a server problem which prevented the webpage from displaying."
