Hello, Well the title might catch your attention and it's a sort of joke, but the translation is not. Google translated exactly the opposite -- it seems to be rendering a favor to the devil :)
Two examples of Google's authomatic Spanish-to-English translations where the meaning was exactly the opposite. In this website (and without any wish to offend anybody in this translators forum) I explain my views about Christianity (the main web page is in Spanish and is called: Cristianismo Practico & Doctrina Pura <http://carloschapa.wordpress.com/>). *Example 1*: Article name: Lo Básico del Mormonismo<http://carloschapa.wordpress.com/2011/08/04/lo-basico-del-mormonismo/>Google Translation Title: Basics of Mormonism<http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcarloschapa.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F08%2F04%2Flo-basico-del-mormonismo%2F> . Text in "dispute" - Original Text (the part that that shows the problem is in red in the 2nd paragraph): Primero no creen en la Divina Trinidad y dicen que Jesucristo es algo así como un dios pequeño o un ángel (lo cual es mentira). My own (human-made) translation: First they do not believe in the Holy Trinity and they say that Jesus Christ is some sort of small god or an angel (which is *not* truth). Google translation (8/14/2011) First do not believe in the Holy Trinity and say that Jesus Christ is like a little god or an angel (which is true). Do you see the problem? Google is saying exactly the opposite I'm trying to say! *Example 2:* Article name: Criticando a los Demás<http://carloschapa.wordpress.com/2011/05/28/criticando-a-los-demas/> Google Translation Title: Criticizing Others<http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=es&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fcarloschapa.wordpress.com%2F2011%2F05%2F28%2Fcriticando-a-los-demas%2F> Text in "dispute" - Original Text (the part that that shows the problem is in red in the 18th paragraph): El diablo siempre se disfrazara como ángel de luz y siempre estará creando nuevas religiones, nuevas sectas y nuevos pecados. My own (human-made) translation: The devil always disguises himself as an angel of light and he will always be creating new religions, new sects and new sins. Google translation (8/14/2011): The devil is always an angel of light and is always creating new religions, new sects and new sins. Well Jesus is *not* a little god or angel, and the devil is not an "angel of light" (but he dresses as one in disguise to confuse believers); but *this is how Google translated erroneousl*y. So I hope they can fix these problems. It's has probably something to do with the principle of double negation in Spanish (I guess).
