My question was apparently asked over a year ago (sorry, I don't know how to include a link here), but it was never answered.
Is there a guide/table somewhere listing the symbol set (with examples) as used in Google's phonetic pronunciation? It's a simplified precursor to IPA, but I doubt there was ever any real "standard" before IPA, so I don't know if I can simply trust the corresponding table given in the front of one of my printed dictionaries (they also use simplified symbol sets, but not necessarily always the same one). -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
