Asking for a translation from something written in the Latin alphabet, but
which is Hebrew, does not translate it into English. Conversely,
translating things into languages that use non-Latin alphabets/syllabaries,
such as Hebrew, Japanese, Hindi, Arabic, and others, is useless for learning
those languages if one can't read their alphabets! Could Google PLEASE
offer the option of translating into EITHER the rendering used by native
speakers OR a Latin-alphabet equivalent? As others have already noted, we
also need a means of entering symbols that are NOT strictly Latin, such as
letters with dots or circles or wavy lines over them, such as are found in
Scandinavian and Spanish/Portuguese. Does anyone have ideas on how to
prompt Google to fix this issue? While I like being able to translate my
English into Arabic, Japanese, Hindi, etc., for my friends from nations
using those languages, it is not helping me learn those languages **at
all.**
