I'va an idea: why don't you combine the Google Translate with the spaced repetition learning system ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spaced_repetition )? There are good SRS programs like Anki, that are used by a lot of people successfully. We just add our newly translated words (or expressions, sentences) and the original datas to flash cards, and we're ready to learning words effectively within Google Translate. In my oppinion there is opportunity in this idea. What do you think?
