I am having the same problem on one IE8 machine @ work (of course, the CEO's, during a demo today!):

The problem is that the dropdown menu DOES NOT APPEAR at all, even with scripting enabled on her machine. I guess this is something in her personal IE8 settings, but I looked through them and could not find a possible culprit.
