I am using Google translate with the hope of communicating to some
relatives in the Ukraine using the English to Russian translator and vice
versa.

I am using Google Translate on my iphone to speak English phrases and have
them translated into Russian. This works very well. As an experiment, I
then placed the iphone to my ipad speaker and play the English to Russian
translation to my friend using Skype who can hear the Russian perfectly.

I then tried to get her to speak some Russian through Skype into my iphone
to see if it could pick up her phrases and have Google Translate do the
translation into English but it cannot seem to do that. It catches the
occasional word but generally is right off the mark.Is there some way I can
get this to work? Is there some digital cancellation taking place? Any
suggestions? Thanks for any/all help!
