I've had the same problem with french. I place semicolons (;) within the 
phrases to kind of break them up. This slows down the voice translator a 
bit. example: As tu passe l'aspirator dans te chambre aujourd'hui? becomes 
As tu; passe l'aspirator; dans te chambre; aujourd'hui? 
This has worked for me.
