I recently looked up on Wikipedia the German name 'Stichling'. I found Gottfried Theodor Stichling and, whilst I am a linguist myself, for sheer speed I decided to look at the translation.
This gave the name as Gottfried Theodor Stickleback, which is a total nonsense. Over a period of time, I find consistent errors in translation, but it is absolutely ludicrous to translate Surnames. Can somebody PLEASE look into it, since while the reader may frequently be able to offer a 'better translation' of body copy, this does not extend to Surnames. As it stands, it makes Google look quite ridiculous. MichaelS -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
