I am a PhD student working on "English to Standard Yoruba Machine Translation System". Yoruba is a language spoken majorly in South West Nigeria. There are other people from other parts of Africa and the world that speak the language. The speakers are over 40 million. The essence of this project is to make many people have access to global information, which usually is in English language.
The E-SY MT system is now working, and there are some sentences that have been translated from English to Standard Yoruba. Rule-based approach was used and home domain environment terminologies are used for the lexicon. It is text to text. how can Google be of assistant in the completion of the project by providing technical and human resources. and the launching of the English to Yoruba Machine Translation on their web.
