I have an xp windows computer and am using firefox.

If I use translate and put, for example "congratulations" to translate to
Japanese, I only see the actual Japanese characters. I don't see the latin
letter equivalent.

If I do the same thing on my Android phone, I get the Japanese characters
and the latin lettering "omedetogozaimasu".

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
