Machine translation as done by Google requires *many* parallel text documents so the translation program can find matching words or phrases in both. It's not magic or some special formula, but is based on lots of human input. For example, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is available in many translations, so some phrases can be matched. However it requires more documents to get good results.
One way to help is to identify websites and documents that have Navajo text, along with the equivalent in Spanish, English, or another language that Google does support. Posting such links would be very helpful. Another idea would be to work on translations for Google products such as Search. Google worked with the Cherokee Nation, for example, and now Google Search is available in that language: www.google.com/chr.
