It would be nice Google had a desktop app that would crowd the whole screen with sets of words in our languages of choice picked randomly.
Each set would have a number correspoding to a computation of how simmilar that word is in different languages, how frequent is its use and also their position would be so as to somehow maximize the follow up between them so that you could easily imagine a story line for the sequence. So you would have this mapping of words in different languages to integers. Say: 1 - Uno (Italian) - One (English)... would be the first category. the word 'first' would also belong to that category because is along the same concept/meaning. The thing that would weight more in the computation formula would be the frequency of the words of that category. Than how similar words of that category are in different languages, like, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, German and English. Than at last there would be other criteria to place each words/concepts corresponding to an integer number. I'm finding it a bit difficult to explain... Pls excuse my english and confused explanation. So, then you could have settings to say how much crowded you would want your display (this could be for the browser only, for Chrome, but I would prefer it was an app for the whole screen and not only inside chrome browser. Although that would already be something. So you could have it really crowded all the time or just with a few at at time. You could also choose how long will they display for, like rate of frequency of them. And you would choose the languages you wanted. The integer numbers for the correponding position of that category of words would be one of the languages. You could configure how you wanted them to be displayed. Line after line. All in the same line. The color of the words each language, font , size , etc This could be an interesting way of learning languages in a very subliminar way. Also you could set them to be static or to move gracefully as in a dance. Get ispiration with this: http://www.literature-map.com<http://www.literature-map.com/franz+kafka.html> I hope you understood a bit my idea. It could be a nice game between friends asking: "what is 46 for you?" "what is 788 for you?" and because Google had this very intelligent mapping of words into integers based on frequency and simillitude of words in different languages and special placements to maximize follow up. People would know a new language: the "googlender" - also useful then for all sorts of menemonics. So say, taxi was, say, 550. Than if the price or measure of something is that, 550, I could say the price is taxi. And everyone would understand!!! -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
