I use Google translate to translate between Russian and English.When a
proper name is translated, the result is a transliterated form of the word.
This is good.
When the sender has written a word in Russian and they make an error, the
result is transliteration of the error. This is useless to an English
speaking reader. They would have to speak Russian to see the error and
understand what was said!.
My wife wrote the following sentence to me in Russian:
* когда у тебя на ферме меньше всегто работы? В какой
период?*
The resulting translation was:
*when you have** a farm less vsegto work? In what
period?**
*Since I speak only a small amount of Russian.... what does "*vsegto *"
mean? Because I can read some Russian... the error is in the word "*всегто"*
A solution to this problem would be if there was an option for each
transliterated word there was an option to show the original Russian OR the
transliterated error. Then I could study the word for an error or go to a
dictionary to solve the problem. It would be very helpful if the word could
be examined separately and I could experiment with different changes in the
original Russian to see if I could correct the error. Or to include a
Russian spell checker in the Google translate. That would show possible
words that are similar to the word that was transliterated.
