Hi,Here is an idea about the intermittent nature of how long the translations
will not refresh. Perhaps, if Google is using several computers -- which they
probably are -- I wonder if it could just be chance about what computer you
happen to get. Perhaps some of them do refresh the base page properly, and
perhaps others do not. Maybe which one you get is even language dependent.
I've had some indication -- although I cannot be certain -- that some languages
do worse than others. I seem to have had the worst trouble, for example, with
French. In any case, what should happen is what happens with Babel Fish --
when you click "refresh" on the translation, before doing anything else, the
Google computer should also download a refreshed base page from which to
translate. As it is now, it clearly re-does the translation -- which you can
see happening -- but translates a page it may have downloaded days ago.Best
regards, Jacob Abernathy

its model with the suggestions?Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009 17:48:06 -0700

Hi, It is highly variable. Sometimes if you refresh the translations, the
changes you posted will post within a few minutes. However, sometimes it
literally takes days. (No kidding.) You can try it yourself. At the other
end of the spectrum sometimes it doesn't take minutes, but will come up
immediately. With Babel Fish, on the other hand, the changes in the translation
are available the instant you make them -- after you refresh the translation,
of course. It appears that Google must be somehow saving the page locally on
the computer where they are doing the translation, and not allowing the base
page to refresh much of the time. I really don't understand what is going on
to cause the intermittent nature of the problem -- you would think it would
always be one way or the other, but it isn't. If you have any sort of a page
that updates things in a timely manner, the way Google does things just does
what you want in. I'm not talking about truly dynamic Web pages either --
merely ones, like Yahoo, for example, -- that change throughout the day to
reflect current news, for example. Thanks for the interest. I REALLY hope
Google will fix this. Best regards,Jacob Abernathy> Date: Mon, 19 Jan 2009
